"No MakeUp" MakeUp

Updated: Sep 10

Nailing the "no makeup" makeup is ideal for my ladies who want minimal mirror time. The "no makeup" makeup beauty trend is all about creating a natural, fresh-faced look that appears as if you're not wearing any makeup BUT you are.

Prep your skin

The key to achieving the "no makeup" makeup look is to have a great canvas. Start with a clean, moisturized face.

Light coverage foundation

Instead of using a full-coverage foundation, opt for a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer like Kosas Skin Revealer to even out your skin tone. Both of these products have good-for-your-skin ingredients that are safe to use daily! Apply it with a damp sponge, kabuki brush, or your fingers for a more natural finish. The kabuki brush is truly a time saver and you won't get your hands messy. The kabuki is my personal fave. If you have any blemishes or dark circles, use a concealer like Juvia's Place to cover them up.

Add some color

Use a cream blush or a baked blush to add a natural flush to your cheeks. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards and outwards for a subtle look. You can also add some bronzer to your cheekbones, nose, and parameter of your face to create a sun-kissed look.

Define your features (Lips Lashes & Brows)

Lips: Opt for a lip balm or stain. I love how my new FAVE NYX Lip IV Hydrating Stain feels and it's budget friendly! Lashes: Apply a coat of mascara to your lashes to enhance your eyes. Check out Maybelline Falsies. Brows: Use Kosas Air Brow for a quick approach to filling in your eyebrows and create a defined shape. FYI *eh um* I do offer services like lash lift & tint, brow stains, and nano brows that define features and take the fuss out of your routine!

Setting your makeup

This is an optional step! I do this because I have oily skin. If you are on the dry side then proceed with caution. Grab your favorite pressed powder. I personally use Maybelline FitMe! This is for the under eye area and the T-zone. Use the sponge it comes with to pick up product and press in those places that collect more oil. Under the eyes is great because it will add a bit ore coverage as well! Again PRESS do not swipe. Swiping will cause you to move your makeup around. After you've pressed it in grab a big fluffy brush to gently blend the outside edges.

Final thoughts....

Keep it simple, avoid heavy eyeliner, bold lip colors, or heavy contouring, as they can look too obvious. Also when trying to decide which items are worth the higher price tag - I would choose to spend more on the all over coverage and concealer. Please don't think that just because something is expensive it is "better". Better for you is what matters - everyone's skin and budget are different.

By following these steps, you'll achieve a natural, fresh-faced look that will enhance your natural beauty. The "no makeup" makeup look is perfect for everyday wear or for those times when you want to look put-together but don't have the time or desire to wear a full face of makeup.
