The temps are droppin and I'm here for it! I don't know if it's the better hair days, the sweaters, the layers, the hot coffees, the snuggles... I could go on, but I digress! The topic of discussion is about fun little tweaks to your makeup routine and the must-have's to keep your skin nice and hydrated during the coming cooler months.
Amazon Tip: Only buy from trusted vendors, buying from the wrong vendor will leave you disappointed. My links are to the trusted vendors!
Before we begin, let me just get this out of the way, practicing self care each and every day is truly the gift that keeps on giving! When you take care of your mind and body - it shows. Our skin is a tell-tale sign of what's going on in the inside. Many of my tips, products, and tools will achieve an immediate result, but nothing will make a lasting impression on your mind, body, and skin like your commitment to healthy eating, stress reduction, sufficient sleep, and exercise. Ok-ok mini lecture over!
Tis the season to bring on the berries and the browns!! It's time to appreciate those deep colors once again.
The musts this fall are to try a berry lip and monochromatic makeup!
Why the berry Lip? The deep color on your lips will create a center of focus that not only makes your teeth appear to be whiter, but will also brighten your entire face! As a licensed esthetician and makeup artist I have personally witnessed that the darker brows, lashes, and lips create focal points on your face; requiring minimal coverage to the rest of your face. ALSO the berry lip looks good on literally every shade of skin under the sun! Don't believe me, google it ;)!
Here are my favorite lipstick products, from drug store Revlon and Maybeline to a higher end, Lime Crime.
Why the monochromatic makeup? Better yet, what the heck is monochromatic makeup?!
Don't you worry your pretty little head - I got you!! Monochromatic literally means one color. The joy for me during this makeup season will be using one shade for multiple purposes, like lips, eyes, and cheeks. Shoot, I even matched my nail polish to my lip color! I'm crazy like that (lol just wild). I chose a spicy, brown color. I know brown - even crazier. This not only looks great, you will literally reduce the number of products in your daily makeup routine. My rock star product today is my favorite drug store Revlon Mousse Lipstick because it can achieve a monochromatic look so well! Keep readin....
To achieve such a look, you can go powder or go cream. The benefit of a cream you can blend with your lip color/gloss as well.
For the ladies who prefer to use powder, lower cost would be the Fit Me Blush in peach or plum, or at a higher price point Glo Beauty Powder in Spice Berry which is talc free. You would apply color to cheeks and ALL over your eyelid!
For the ladies who prefer to use cream! Cream is a great option during the winter - this is another way to add extra moisture into your makeup routine. Glo Beauty Cream blush in Terracotta or Purlisse in Sunset Glow. Same as the powder blush, except with the cream you can add a bit to your lips that will easily blend!
I have included my current Revlon Mousse Liquid Lipstick in Spice that will pair nicely with the browns listed above AND can be used all on its own! This product right here is the real MVP because it works for eyes, cheeks, and lips = ONE product = THREE uses!

Due to a lack of moisture in the air during the cooler months, our skin begins to reflect the increased dehydration by-show of fine lines and wrinkles (types with eyes rolling). Let's lock that moisture in with a great skincare routine and periodic treatments.
DAILY CARE: Cleanse with an oil or cream cleanser like Pacificas Coconut Milk Cleanser to avoid stripping away protective oils! Use a day time moisturizer like Elta MD, and in the evening use a cream moisturizer Seoul Ceuticals Snail Repair Cream. Your night time routine is so important especially since our bodies are working hard to rebuild and recover. Don't underestimate the auto-processes our bodies undergo at night to recover and rest. For the eyes, I have been enjoying LilyAna Naturals Eye Cream, AM and PM. LIPS NEED LOVE TOO! Linked below is my favorite beeswax free lip moisturizer, EcoLips Vegan Lip Balm. I see the best results with my lips when I put it on at night before bed!
TREATMENTS: I have found that sheet masks and eye masks truly provide an intense surge of moisture to my face and eyes! You would use these treatments around 2 times a week before your night time moisturizer and eye cream.
